In March 2006, Supreme Steel Edmonton was awarded the supply contract for the Ainsworth GP2 Expansion project. This contract consisted of 2200 tons of interior and exterior steel (equipment support structures and platforms), and grew to approximately 3500 tons over time. The scope of the project included a wide variety of light, medium, and heavy steel, as well as thousands of meters of handrail. The finished product consisted of a mix of painted and galvanized steel. This expansion added roughly 500,000 sq. ft. to the existing OSB plant in Grand Prairie, Alberta, essentially doubling their current operation.
