Anthony Henday Drive Northwest

Since the new year, we have erected two more of the twelve Anthony Henday Drive Northwest Project bridges, one over the Yellowhead Trail in the west end and the other on the Manning Freeway on the north side. We are now down to the last 30 girders for two remaining bridges. This is the largest ever project for Bridge Division, and includes 177 girders total.

Although fabrication is near completion, the field crews have six more AHD bridges to install. Through continual coordination with our client, we have been able to offload the girders for three bridges on site in a location where we can pick and erect or pick, then walk with the client’s 230T crawler crane into position and erect. Being able to offload before erecting has been a benefit to us, since it has given us the use of our shop space for continuous fabrication.
